Vision

Through knowledge, people can take a more effective role in their health or the health of their loved ones.

Goals

Infomedicine achieves its mission through health information research services designed to

    (1) Improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.

    (2) Use evidence-based health information to improve the health care system's ability to provide access to high quality, high-value health care.

    (3) Provide policymakers with information to assess the impact of system changes on outcomes, quality, access to, cost and use of healthcare services.

Infomedicine bridges the large gap between knowledge and practice, by incorporating the findings of evidence-based medical information into patients' daily lives. To achieve this the service will provide easy access to online health information, delivering relevant content from public and subscription data sources.

  • Candor: People who use Infomedicine for health-related purposes need to be able to judge for themselves that our site and services they use are credible and trustworthy. Our site clearly indicates who we are, how to contact us, the nature of our service, and what we deliver as a product.

  • Privacy and protection of health data: Infomedicine does not collect, use, or share personal data without the user's specific affirmative consent.
  • Timeliness: We regularly update health-related information.

  • Accountability: People need to be confident that our organization and individuals that provide health information services take users' concerns seriously and that we make good faith efforts to ensure that our practices are ethically sound. Our site clearly indicates to our users how they can contact the owner of the site and/or the party responsible for managing the site or service.

  • Quality: To make wise decisions about their health care, people need and have the right to expect that Infomedicine will provide the most accurate, well-supported information available.

  • Professionalism in Online Health Care: We subscribe to the and abide by the ethical codes that govern our professions as practitioners in face-to-face relationships-- put patients' and clients' interests first, clearly disclose any sponsorships, financial incentives, or other information that would likely affect the patient's or client's perception of professional's role or the services offered. We clearly disclose what fees, if any, will be charged for the online consultation and how payment for services is to be made We obey the laws and regulations of relevant jurisdiction(s), including applicable laws governing professional licensing and prescribing.

  • Responsible Partnering: People need to be confident that Infomedicine and its employees undertake to partner only with trustworthy individuals or organizations. Whether they are for-profit or nonprofit, we make reasonable efforts to ensure that sponsors, partners, or other affiliates abide by applicable law and uphold the same ethical standards as us and we insist that current or prospective sponsors not influence the way search results are displayed for specific information on keywords or topics. And we indicate clearly to our users whether links to other sites are provided for information only or are endorsements of those other sites.
